Bryson Merriweather Needs Bone Marrow Transplant Saturday, Mar 15 2008

Bryson Merriweather, grandson of Franklin and Margie Sylvia, was diagnosed with leukemia.

.     A Bone Marrow Transplant is critical to Bryson long-term survival. Racial / Ethnic heritage are very important factors. Because tissue types are inherited, patients are most likely to match someone of their own race or ethnicity.     Please join the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry.  It is so simple and takes about 15 minutes.  Fill out some paperwork with your medical history and have a cotton swab twirled in your mouth 4 times!  How easy is that!      Yet think of how many lives (often young children) could be saved if we did this.  Getting more people to join the registry is possibly the only hope for Bryson.   Joining the registry does not force a person to actually donate their marrow. If a potential match is found, the donor will be asked to agree to further blood work. Hopefully prayer would lead them to say yes!    Listed below are donation sites”   Alabama*St John Catholic Church, Madison,Al…. 9 March/Time Pending (POC Michelle Condurso) *Alabama A&M University, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 (10:00 am – 3:00 pm) Elmore Gymnasium *Alabama A&M University, Wednesday, March 26, 2008 (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) Patton Hall – LIFESOUTH Mobile Unit  *Holy Family Catholic Church, Huntsville,Al…. Date/Time Pending (POC Michelle Condurso) Louisiana*February 24, 2008 Alexandria Mall – Alexandria, LA COMPLETE 50 New Donors
